Incident in the blood donation van

There was a Red Cross blood drive on campus today, so I signed up for an appointment. After much preliminary paperwork, I was ushered onto the van and into a little cubicle where a nice lady asked some more questions.

"Last name?"

"Gray. G-R-A-Y."

"First name?"

"Rachel."

"Date of birth?"

"June 7, 1978."

"You registered as female; is that correct?"

??!!!

Unfortunately, you'd be surprised. I worked with a fellow for several years before I figured out he was a "he". What a mess.
